Walrus Training Routine (Video)

After an animal is trained, behaviors are put into routines and the cues are changed so that the normal viewer doesn’t notice them.

This is called “fading” but in other situations the cue is turned into slight movements or other motions that trigger a behavioral response.

The walking movement and position cues the walrus movement and the touch gets the “tango” extension.

Instruments or other props become the SD (discriminative stimulus) or cue.
