UAC 101 Unusual Animal Careers Introduction
Seminar
This is the prerequisite for all other classes. Topics covered include:
Overview of considerations and roles; 4 steps to take; 10 traits
needed to be successful in animal work; Beginning to research career
possibilities; A sampling of different types of organizations and
publications to contact; Etiquette rules before you contact an organization
or person; Tips on contacts; Getting practical experience in domestic
animal work; Getting practical experience in exotic animal work.
A discussion forum on salaries and related questions is also held.

to reserve space. Cancellation fees: 50% of registration applies
within 14 days or less in advance of UAC101 class date. Discounts
for coordinators who help set up workshops in various areas.
UAC 200 Series: Wild & Exotic Animals
You have had the introduction to what it takes to get into the beginning
stages of entering into the professional realm of exotics. This
next series will take you into a much closer look at what is out
there. Exploration will include possibilities for gaining experience;
roles available for the particular species; considerations related
to that specialty; and professional training or educational opportunities.
Future field trips and related opportunities discussed.
Prerequisite: UAC 101 Duration: 2 hours

You have had the introduction to what it takes to get into the beginning

options that are out there. Exploration will include possibilities
for gaining experience; roles with the particular species; considerations
related to that specialty; and professional training or educational
opportunities. Future field trips and related opportunities discussed.
