Photo Above: Leo at MSNBC–catch the video there.
Leo — rescued from heavy chains that confined him as one of the pit bulls in former NFL quarterback Michael Vick’s dogfighting ring — is a lover, not a fighter. He now happily frolics in a clown collar as he makes the rounds at the Camino Infusion Center, where he brings comfort to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
Despite his training as a killer, Leo is a sweetheart as he visits his friends on the ward.

Californians for Humane Farming
Proposition 2 (Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty) is something you should take a look at over at Humane Farming dot Org.
This initiative will get a lot of backlash from those involved in the livestock industry and you can read some of the opposition issues while you are on the organization’s website.

Thinking about how food is raised, handled, butchered, and served up is not something most people do–especially when they are chomping down at the fast food chains.
Making conscious choices and pushing your local grocers and butchers to supply humanely raised foods and organically produced foods helps support those efforts–you are voting with your dollars. That is where you can place a lot of pressure for change.
Earlier this year I posted some useful links to humane farming and sustainable agriculture websites.
My opinion? If you are ingesting meat you should consider pushing for change in the way these animals are treated.
“You are what you eat” takes on a whole new meaning if you think about it…ponder this especially if you are at a BBQ during this holiday weekend.
Vote with your dollars and then vote at the polls.
