Guerrero Assists Animal Disaster Rescue Efforts
Sacramento, CA
Ever wonder who helps all those animals in areas hit by natural or man-made disasters? Diana Guerrero, an animal behavior consultant based in California, knows the answer. Guerrero, who has experienced several disasters herself, has participated in national efforts for animal disaster rescue. She participated in the American Humane Association's efforts in the flood areas of Northern California.
Author of the booklet, Disaster Preparedness for Pet Owners & Pet Professionals she has worked at preparing people BEFORE there is a problem. The booklet includes sections on animal behavior and what to expect, resources available, and the latest edition traces historical earthquake predictions by animals! The booklet is a compilation of her experiences and insights to situations from her own personal experiences and training.
During efforts with the American Humane Association's animal disaster rescue team, Diana had on the spot training in swift water rescue and repelling. When asked about her descent down the side of a 200 foot cliff by the Animal Planet Film Crew filming the training, she replied that she liked it!
