Pet Blessing Expert Attends Blessing of the Animals at Church of Truth in Pasadena, California

The First Annual Blessing of the Animals at the Church of Truth in Pasadena, California was filled with animal blessings, prayers, and pets. Diana L Guerrero spoke, & signed books while ministers blessed all the precious pets. Pets received bandanas & toys.

The First Annual Pet Blessing for the Church of Truth in Pasadena, California was fun and harmonious. The most unusual guest was a opossum. Ministers took their posts around the serene garden setting and the blessing of the animals began.

Guerrero considered the event her most rewarding appearance for June. The Pet Blessing and book signing were preceded by the filming of the Charter Cable show, "Truth to Tell." Reverend Donna Byrns was a fabulous host and dedicated the entire interview to discussing What Animals Can Teach Us about Spirituality. The program aired a week prior to the event and then again on the actual day of the pet blessing.

Ms. Guerrero began her day by attending the church service and enjoyed the informal luncheon with book club members and other congregates. She spoke for fifteen minutes just prior to the event. Three ministers blessed the animals individually. Each minister had her own unique method and blessing live animals, deceased animals, and even the pictures of animals who could not attend.

The serene setting featured arbors, shade trees and unique foliage. The Church has been on the grounds for 80 years so the garden is an older style--filled with grace and elegance. The attractive surroundings encouraged visitors to mill around. Most joined Diana Guerrero at her table. Relaxed discussions and autographing continued from 1:30pm until 4pm. Needless to say, everyone found the day fun and rewarding.

The animals loved the attention and cooperated to receive the blessings. Most were dogs, but also attendees included a winged critter and a slithering creature--plus a baby opossum. All the canines left wearing new fancy bandanas and new toys! Shadow and Happy were two large dogs who did not want to leave their minister buddy. They stayed for ages before meandering along home. They made a new friend onsite who also happened to be a local petsitter!

If time allows Guerrero will head back to the Church of Truth's book discussion group later this month. Several people from the church have already emailed with great comments about the book.

The next Precious Pet Blessing scheduled for Guerrero will take place in the town of Fawnskin, a small San Bernardino Community in the Big Bear Valley. Guerrero will speak and bless the animals from 9:30am until 10am on July 25, 2004. Stay tuned for that news!
